Godly Truths

Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life.

Today’s Truth

Guard the Wellspring

Proverbs 4:23 · World English Bible

You can clean up the public version of your life and still poison the source. The heart is not a mood. It is the well from which your words, your eyes, and your decisions drink. What you let run through it in private will eventually taste like the rest of you.

Pornography, lingering comparison, the quiet bitterness you rehearse in the car: none of that stays in a box labeled 'just thoughts.' Diligence means you treat your inner life like something that can be wrecked, because it can. A man who will not guard his heart will spend years wondering why his relationships feel thin.

This is not about becoming fragile or afraid of desire. It is about refusing to let unexamined appetite become the thing that names you. Keep the well. Everything else you want to build draws from it.

Today’s Challenge

Delete one source of poison you have been calling harmless, an account, a thread, a saved folder, before you sleep tonight.

Pray

Search me, God. I have been careless with the well. Teach me to keep my heart with diligence, and restore what I have let grow bitter or unclean. Amen.
