Your Temptation Is Not Unique

The lie that keeps you stuck is that your particular hunger is a special case. Nobody else wars like this. Nobody else would understand. That story isolates you, which is exactly how temptation prefers to work. Paul cuts it down in a sentence: nothing has taken you except what is common to man.

Common does not mean harmless. It means you are not a freak, and you are not excused. God is faithful. He is not surprised by the hour you always crash, the tab you tell yourself is research, the person you should not text. He provides a way of escape, which means the exit exists. The question is whether you will take it while it is still a door and not a memory.

Stop narrating your temptation as unique. Treat it as ordinary war with an ordinary exit. Tell the truth to God, put distance between you and the usual trigger, and let a brother into the fight. Isolation is how you lose a common battle.
