Godly Truths

In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

Today’s Truth

Peace Is Not Avoidance

Philippians 4:6-7 · World English Bible

You have been avoiding the conversation because silence feels easier. You call it keeping the peace. Your body knows better: the jaw, the 1 a.m. replay, the way your stomach drops when the name appears on the screen. Scripture does not confuse peace with avoidance. Peace is what God posts as a guard after you have told Him the truth.

Paul's order is specific. Stop feeding the loop. Take the thing, all of it, not the cleaned-up version, to God with thanksgiving, which is a way of remembering you are not the first man He has held together. Then the peace that does not always make sense gets to work on your heart and your thoughts.

Anxiety wants a hearing. Give it one, in prayer, and then stop letting it run the rest of the day. You cannot think your way into the peace of God. You can only tell Him what you have been clutching and let Him stand watch.

Today’s Challenge

Write the anxious thing in one honest sentence. Pray it out loud. Then send the message or make the call you have been delaying.

Pray

Father, I have been calling my avoidance peace. I bring You what I have been carrying in the dark. Guard my heart and my thoughts in Christ Jesus, and give me the next faithful step. Amen.
