Godly Truths

All chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been exercised thereby.

Today’s Truth

The Harvest After the Hard Thing

Hebrews 12:11 · World English Bible

No one likes this part. Hebrews says so without apology: chastening is not joyous. The alarm, the budget, the training, the conversation you would rather skip, it all feels like loss while you are in it. That is not a sign you should quit. It is a sign you are in the middle of the sentence.

Afterward. That is the word most men never stay long enough to read. Afterward it yields peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. Discipline is a teacher. If you drop the class every time it hurts, you stay a beginner in your own life.

Pick up the hard thing you put down last week. Not the whole new identity. The next rep. Fruit grows after, not during.

Today’s Challenge

Return to one discipline you quit when it got boring, prayer, training, a budget line, and do it today without announcing it.

Pray

Father, I have wanted the fruit without the training. Teach me to stay in the hard middle. Yield in me the peaceful fruit of righteousness. Amen.
