Don't Let the Sun Go Down

Ephesians 4:26-27 · World English Bible

You can be angry and not sin. That sentence surprises men who were taught to swallow it and men who were taught to spray it. Paul allows the heat and forbids the hangover. Do not let the sun go down on your wrath. Overnight, anger becomes a story. By morning it has a lawyer.

Unresolved wrath gives the devil a chair at the table, in a marriage, in a friendship, in a team. You replay the slight. You collect evidence. You go to bed right and wake up colder. That is not righteousness. That is a foothold.

The sun is going down on something you have not said. Say a clean version of it before the day ends. Short, true, without the extra knives.

Today’s Challenge

Before you sleep, resolve or at least speak honestly about one live conflict. Do not take it into tomorrow untouched.

Pray

Lord, I am angry, and I do not want to sin with it. Keep me from giving the devil a place. Give me words that are true and clean before this day ends. Amen.
