Godly Truths

For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.

Today’s Truth

Not a Spirit of Fear

2 Timothy 1:7 · World English Bible

Fear has been posing as prudence. You call it being realistic. You call it timing. Underneath is a spirit Paul says God did not give you. What He did give is less cinematic and more useful: power, love, and self-control.

Power without love becomes a performance. Love without self-control becomes a mood. Together they are how a man lives when fear is no longer allowed to chair the meeting. You do not have to feel fearless to refuse fear's authority.

The next faithful thing is probably smaller than the speech in your head: a call, an apology, an application, a no. Fear wants you to wait for a feeling. God already issued the equipment.

Today’s Challenge

Write down the decision fear has been postponing. Take one irreversible step toward it today.

Pray

Spirit of God, I reject the fear that has been posing as wisdom. Give me power, love, and self-control for the thing in front of me. Amen.
